The Holy Spirit Our Power For a Successful Ministry

par Zacharias T. Fomum

At the Second World Convention of Christian Missionary Fellowship International in Lagos, Zacharias Tanee Fomum delivered nineteen messages to missionaries and leaders gathered from many nations. This book preserves them as they were spoken. Inside, the reader will find the opening charge that getting a successor is the leader’s primary preoccupation— I don’t ask, ‘How great is the man?’ I ask, ‘How great is the No. 2 man? ’ the teaching on a loyal heart, drawn from Ruth, Saul’s armour-bearer and David’s mighty men; the doctrine of accountability, with its dozens of Scriptures and its insistence that goals be clear, measurable and time-bound; the searching message The Message is the Messenger , warning that God will not flow through a heart in secret sin; and the closing exposition of Judges 6:34—the Spirit of the Lord who clothed Himself with Gideon still clothes Himself with yielded workers, so that “failure is impossible.” Practical, unsparing and aflame with faith, this is a field manual for all who labour for God—and for all who long to see His work succeed.
